Ristorante Da Valentino

When you think of authentic family run Italian restaurants in Singapore, two names come in mind. Osvaldo’s and Ristorante da Valentino.

I’ve been to Ristorante da Valentino a couple of times prior to my food blogger career, and I thought that an entry on Valentino’s was in order. So, my dining partner and myself trotted down to Valentino’s, one late Sunday afternoon.

Have you gotten your seats for Restaurant Week 2010? Last I heard, almost half of the 18,000 seats released on 23 February 2010 have been snapped up and many restaurants are fully booked for dinners.

But if you have not been able get seats, fret no more!

I’ve received news that an additional of 2,700 seats will be released for lunch and dinner at selected 21 participating restaurants such as Absinthe, Bedrock Bar & Grill, Al Qasr, Krish, Mimolette, Julien BOMPARD, Boulevard, Villa Enrique, Capricci, Original Sin, Michelango’s, Oso Ristorante, Novus Restaurant Bar Café & Courtyard, Senso Ristorante & Bar, Il Lido, Forlino, Private Affairs, The Garden (at The Sentosa Resort & Spa), The Song of India, Garibaldi Italian Restaurant & Bar, and One On The Bund.

These extra 2,700 seats will be released to the public on 9 March 2010, Tuesday at 2.00 pm but subscribers to the DiningCity newsletter will get priority booking privileges on the same day.

Au Petit Salut

Have you ever been in this situation when you’re hungry, it’s late in in the day and you basically just want to have a good meal somewhere where you know you will never get disappointed? I have, on many occasions in fact. And on this particular occasion, a re-visit to Au Petit Salut was in order. Need I mention too, that the free parking was definitely a pulling factor! (It’s amazing how parking charges can add up! I’m pretty sure fellow drivers share my same sentiment.)

See my previous post on Au Petit Salut here.
